Following Gordon Hulson’s death in 1999, a memorial prize was inaugurated by his family. It is awarded annually by the Royal Society of British Artists, to an artist whose work shows evidence of the qualities Hulson valued. The purpose is to encourage the artistic talents evident in Hulson’s work, particularly draughtsmanship, but also variety and exploration, reflecting his wide ranging artistic interests.
